For my personal development and simply for fun, I sometimes work on private projects.
One of my biggest hobbies, which I’ve loved since childhood, is dancing. That’s why I decided to improve the brand identity and, especially, the website of my dance school, „Samuels Dance Hall Berlin“, where I regularly take classes. I noticed a lot of potential for improvement, particularly in terms of user experience and the overall look and feel.

Mobile Versions
Since one of the pain points was the responsiveness of the website, I also created mobile versions of my designs, which can be easily adapted into an app design.
Everything was build with a style guide, components and auto layout.

Conclusion
I had a lot of fun realizing this project. As it was a private project of my own devising, I had all the creative freedom I wanted, but I still set myself a few restrictions to mimic a real collaboration with Samuels Dance Hall. For example, I followed the existing color scheme and of course tried to reflect the content of the website.
I hope that in the future there will be an opportunity to work with Samuels Dance Hall in real life and really put my ideas into practice.
It was an interesting experience to go through all the stages of branding and creation (ideation, user interviews, wireframes, task flows, design, prototyping, socials etc.) on my own. This improved my knowledge of the programs Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop. I also got to know the basics of the prototype and animation program Principle and I can imagine working with it more often or integrating more animations into my designs.
